I wanted to write a quick post about some good friends of ours. We all met in college and have of course remained friends since our graduations (Classes of ’08 and ’09). We’ve been in each other’s weddings and been godparents to each other’s children. We use to live across the country from each other, but thankfully we are only a few hours away now!

Fall 2006
{separate pictures, but who cares!}

Fall 2007
{Martha sent us a pic from college!}

November 2009
{we added one!}

April 2011
{we added another!}

September 2012
{oh hey, we added two!}

Needless to say, it’s been fun! I can’t wait to see where we end up in another 5 or so years… and how many kids will be in these pictures by the end of it! {And yes, I’m kicking myself for the fact that we don’t have a picture of the 4 of us from before we had any kids! Thanks again for the pic M!}

I love buying gifts for my friends. Sadly, I’ve had to cut back on that lately, and probably will have to for quite a while! If I did have the extra cash though, here are a few of my favorite picks for your favorite friends.

{1}
I don’t think I could ever have enough little pouches to store stuff. I love this one from Petunia Blooms. Plus, it comes with an adorable matching hair clip! Use the code BEMERRY for 15% off!

{2}
This market bag from simple things is so sweet and simple. It would be an instant favorite of mine!

{3}
I adore these sweet little initial necklaces from Anne Kiel. Certainly better than better than those BFFL half heart necklaces from when you were 5.

{4}
Chances are, your best friend has the same fashion sense as you do. The line of Farmer’s Market dresses at oh, sweet joy! is perfect. Use the code GIFTGUIDE for 10% off!

{5}
Rings don’t often catch my eye, but this libra ring from elephantine always does. I can think of a few friends that would love it too.

{6}
This Cotton Lane Bake Me a Cake apron is perfect for your friend who can put the Ace of Cakes to shame. Use the code BEMERRY for 15% off!

After spending a lovely weekend with my dear friends, I am just itching for another one. Some friendships will simply never end, and can certainly never be replaced.

My deepest apologies friends for disappearing with no notice at all! The week between two vacations got a little hectic and I needed to prioritize a bit… and I realize I haven’t shared any pictures of Bermuda with you! So here are a few to give you a feel for the beautiful island, along with the lessons I learned on the trip!

greet people before asking for anything

it’s amazing how far a little good afternoon will go

there’s almost always room for one more rum swizzle
or two or four

you can find friends just about anywhere
 every evening, we had wine or champagne sent to our dinner table from new friends we met along the way
there is no excuse for food that isn’t delicious
 sure, we ate things that were much more delicious than omelets and waffles, but this really was delicious
take chances
I was more hesitant about getting into the cold water than I was about kayaking but still. Put your mind to it, do it and you may actually enjoy it. Simple as that.
family is always first
we’re still working on photo-shopping J into the picture, but I really should have had his head on a stick.

PS – Another lesson learned, all businessmen should wear shorts and knee high socks in the summer. So sharp.

Today I wanted to share with you three of my favorite people in the world…

The three best friends that anyone can have, the three best friends… ok, I won’t do that. These three ladies are my best friends {the princi!} from high school. We were 100% joined at the hip. First there was Liz.
We were best friends in middle school. We shared a deep, deep love for Pacey Witter and had weekly phone calls every Wednesday night at 8pm {only speaking during the commercials of course.} We were also big fans of one Jimmy Johnson. Number 48 that is. Yes, we went to NASCAR races together… and it was amazing. We also worked together throughout high school at good ole Longhorn Steakhouse. {Okay actually for one month, all four of us worked there, but Liz and I stuck with it for years to come…} Once we got to high school, we met Laura and Mandy (who were also best friends at a different middle school) and history was made.  So now, we go to Laura.

With Laura, things were always crazy and fun. Whether it was spontaneous trips to Edisto, skipping school to hit up every fast food restaurant we could imagine, or counting fish on bathroom wallpaper… it was undoubtedly always fun. Now this sweet girl is about to celebrate her first anniversary with her husband and in a couple of months will have a sweet baby boy in her arms! Insane how time flies. Finally that brings us to Mandy…

Manfrid, as I have affectionately called her for years, is about as true of a person you can find. Our friendship started out in a Spanish class with plenty of colorful notes and pictures being passed back and forth. We spent many weekends in Myrtle Beach together, we both are a little more than in love with college football and we got through high school having a great friendship with Christ at the center. Those kind of friendships are precious.

Really though, if you get one of us, you can expect all four of us. We went everywhere together, dressed alike, had photo shoots and girls night’s galore, typically had the same schedules, had marshmallow fights on a routine basis… seriously, inseperable.

I couldn’t ask for better friends to get me through those high school years. Now that I’m so far away while they are all enjoying life down in Charleston, it’s nice to know that our friendship will never change. Love you girls and can’t wait to see where life takes us next!
