I decided to combine my new weekly link up with Jen with my monthly “dear” series. Sorry I skipped January… it was quite the month! So starting back up, a few of my thoughts on February.
This is my baby’s 6th month. How in the heavens did that happen? Since he was born on the 31st, I don’t really know when to celebrate his 6th month birthday… on March 3rd? Hmph.
February, I use to despise you. There’s nothing exciting {never was a big Valentine’s fan}, it’s short and cold and boring. HOWEVER, I have truly loved to appreciate this fine month. The Lord certainly had a plan when he made February one of the 3.5 months of tax season. The shortest month is MOST welcome in this time of year.
Speaking of St. Valentine’s Day… I am becoming a fan. It is much better when I remember what it is really about rather than trying to over-romanticize the day {only to get let down.}
Now that I’m married though, no Valentine’s Day is a let down. I got my happily ever after.
As I’ve mentioned before, the 14th is also my dear brother’s birthday. Now that he has past the over-the-hill threshold, I think I’ll stop making fun of him for being old… maybe.
Another thing about this month? Lent. Hellllo, way to sneak up on me here. Last year I got to use the awesome pregnancy cop-out and this year I may even get some breastfeeding-mama cop-outs. I can hardly fast for 2 hours these days, let alone a whole day. Eeep.
What are you doing for Lent? Anything? I’m considering giving up fast food {not a staple in my life, but definitely a crutch!}, cutting back on coffee, praying the rosary, and not “snoozing.” All are things I should be doing anyway, right?

Finally December! This fall went by far too quickly {I think that is partially due to the fact that I have a newborn} but I just LOVE December so I don’t mind.
I love the first {real} snow. You know, the one that finally sticks to the ground and covers up all the grass? That’s the best.

I love the excitement of advent and the joys of Christmas.

The month is always filled with wonderful music, twinkly lights, fun parties… it really just can’t be beat!

What’s your favorite part about December? I bet it is Christmas…
Time is slipping by oh-so-very fast! Where did September go??? {Oh yeah, I had a newborn.} October is always such a fun month… with the crisp air, the fall candles, the bonfires, and the treats… I have quite a few things to accomplish on my bucket list this month:
go to the farm in the fall
{photo}
make homemade applesauce
{thanks for the food mill Momma!}
{photo}
celebrate M’s first Halloween
{yep, totally thinking about making this!}
go on a few long walks to enjoy the fall weather

What are you most looking forward to?
It’s been a while since I’ve written one of these, but I just had to come back for one of my all-time favorite months. I’ve been looking forward to September even more so with the due date of our sweet little boy, but he decided he wanted to be an August baby instead!
Besides that, there are so many things I just love about September…
like the ability to drink pumpkin beverages
{pumpkin pie white hot chocolate}
or the slow change from summer to fall

and especially the beginning of college football.

Overall, it’s just a wonderful month. Little baby is just making it all the better! What’s your favorite part about September?
Oh my how time is flying by. I can’t believe it is already June. Summer is practically here! I’m hoping for quite a relaxing June, but I know with a wedding in town and my first baby shower, it will surely prove to be a busy one! Nevertheless, there are quite a few things I am looking forward to!
grilling out
summer storms
time by the pool
{or in the backyard with a misting bottle!}
the smell of freshly mowed grass
What are your favorite parts of June?
I'm just a girl blogging about all things that make me smile. I'm a wife, a new mother, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a friend. I'm an atypical accountant and a new-found domestic. I spend my days trying to balance work, raising a baby, time with the husband and at home, and time for myself. I love reading books, baking, decorating and sewing.
