A big happy birthday to my dad! I am blessed with a wonderful father and I wish him the best birthday yet!

Happy birthday Pops!!! Love you and miss you!

Today my niece turns 16. Before you start thinking I’m old, I was only 9 when she was born. Granted, I still feel ancient when I think of my 16 year old niece beginning her junior year of high school in a few days. She is beautiful, amazingly smart and very talented. For as long as I can remember she has absolutely loved horses, so when she got riding lessons for her 10th birthday we knew she’d be hooked for a while. I don’t think any of us realized how good she would be. This girl takes home more ribbons than I ever thought possible… and she does it in a way that blows those hoity-toity equestrian girls out of the water.

In honor of this cowgirl niece of mine, I bring you some great equestrian finds. Enjoy!

I’m not going to lie, despite being a bit afraid of horses, I am really loving that horseshoe necklace!

This card is absolutely perfect for my dear friend Abby on her 25th birthday.  Because you know what? I am so freaking glad she was born. I couldn’t imagine not having my Abby in my life… she is such a doll.  When she found out I hadn’t read Peter Pan yet, she had it sent to me almost immediately.  She sends J and I little gift cards and demands that we use them only on things that are fun. She gets me in trouble in class for chatting too much in the back {yes, we were seniors in college}. She understands that sometimes the best night is downing a tin of popcorn while watching Disney movies.  Oh and she also sees the beauty in a long walk on a snowy, 10 degree day.

So yeah… Abs? I’m very much glad you were born.

A big thank you to everyone who helped me celebrate by 25th birthday yesterday! It was such a wonderful day, simple though it was!  I am so humbled by the sweet comments on my posts and on twitter that I received from all of you. You are all too sweet. If I could, I would send all of you a bouquet of brightly colored daisies, the friendliest flower. Tomorrow, I will be going to the home and garden store to get my birthday present from J, some window boxes, flowers and herb seeds! I’m hoping to talk him into a vinyl table cloth and maybe some plastic dishes for outside, but we’ll see. The weather hasn’t really been lending itself to eating outside just yet!

Do you have any big plans for the weekend? Do tell! I hope its warm and sunny where you are!

I’ll be wearing this

… and we’ll all eat this.

We’ll play with these…

in a room filled with some of these.
We’ll end the day with dinner here.

We’ll be drinking some of these…

and topping it off with some of this.

I’ll give you a little party favor

and say thanks for helping me celebrate my twenty-fifth!
